DeBora "Debbie" Craven

Debbie Craven was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She was educated in the Alexandria Public School System and became an “Original Titan” in 1969. She graduated from T.C. Williams High School in 1973. Debbie became a part of the Titans Football Team when her best friend “BUBBA” (Brad Smith #82) started his distinguished career as the first freshman to start on the T.C. Varsity Football Team. Debbie and Bubba grew up together and continue their friendship. She was introduced to Big Mike (Mike Hopson #84) in 1971 and they remain close friends.

Debbie became what most people call an equipment manager. She held this position for one year in 1971, but still continue supporting her Team throughout high school.  Debbie was one of the first female equipment managers to grace a football field. In those years this was something a young lady did not do, but, she did it anyway. She said it was like having 77 brothers to take care of.

After graduating from TCW in 1973 she attended Hannah Harrison Career School for Nursing. After completed Nursing School she worked at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Upper Northwest Washington, DC for one year. In 1975 Debbie decided to further her education. She attended Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland for 3 years, majoring in Nursing.

Choosing not to complete college, she returned home and worked in the nursing field until 1980. In 1980 she made a big decision and decided to change careers and enrolled in the Computer Learning Center in Springfield, Virginia.  She graduated in the top 5 of her class one-year later. From 1985 to 1999 she worked for NASD (NASDAQ), starting as a Lead Computer Operator and in 1992 she was promoted to Production Control Analyst. In 1999 she became a contractor for EDS and still works as an Operation Analyst at NASDAQ. Just recently she accepted a management position. In 1981 she became very involved with her high school class reunion committee and remains very active as an alumnus today.  She is also an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. She is single and resides here in Germantown.

Debbie said she will always cherish and remember her years as a Titan.

She will always be a Titan.
