Jim Plant

Jim Plant was born to William & Anglesea Plant on December 2,1954 in Washington D.C. Jim is the youngest of five children; Phoebe, Paul, Barbara and Michael (deceased). The Plant name Is well known in Alexandria due his parents Activities with the local clubs and organizations Such as the Alexandria Symphony and Grace Episcopal Church along his mothers involvement With the Alexandria Women’s Club and Meals On Wheels.

Jimmy attended George Mason Elementary School then Minnie Howard and John Adams Middle schools before entering T.C.Williams High School for four years of high school. This was the last class to graduate from T.C.
having gone all four years and also the first hlass to graduate from the K-6-2-2 plan which happened in his junior year at T.C.Williams.

Jim, while at T.C.Williams was involved in the sports programs as a manager and athletic trainer patching up, taping up and unwrapping the players of football, basketball and soccer. He also was a avid vocalist in the school choir tnd was a member of the City Chartered fraternity Phi Lambda Chi and a member of the Alexandria-Washington Chapter of Demolay plus other clubs and organizations in school. His most rewarding time though was being a part of the TITANS football team where he spent a great deal of time for two years in high school and one year after Graduating.

After taking a year off after high school he began School at Northern Virginia Community College where he studied electronics and broadcast technology. He attended the Columbia School Of Broadcasting and got his first job as a radio Personality and continued his broadcasting for a period of five years until he found that it was Electronics that would be his career field.

He worked for AT&T LONG LINES for about two years before getting the chance to work for the pre-imminent International Broadcast Agency of the United States government where he has spent the last twenty years as a Radio Broadcast Engineer at the “VOICE OF AMERICA”.

Jim recently, at the age of forty six, married a Chinese citizen and has a stepdaughter who attends college in Virginia. Jim and his wife Li Na are happily married and live in Fairfax County Virginia.
