         Wayne Stover #24
Wayne Stover was born in Miami Beach, Florida, the son of two US Marines.  The family moved to northern Virginia when Wayne was just two weeks old so, for all intents and purposes, Wayne was a genuine “Alexandria boy”.   Wayne attended McArthur Elementary, Minnie Howard and John Adams Middle Schools prior to TC Williams High School.
From the age of 9 until high school, Wayne played both football and baseball in the Alexandria Recreational Leagues. At the ripe old age of 10 was named the city’s “Most valuable Player” in the football leagues’ 70 lb. Class, having scored 17 touchdowns in a season – 5 in one game!
Once high school began, Wayne was active in both football and baseball.  Summers were filled more sports as well as work as a lifeguard at several area pools.
After graduating from TC, Wayne attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, earning a B.S. in Psychology.   He then went to study law at Northwestern School of Law in Portland, Oregon.  Throughout his college and law school years, Wayne remained active in sports – playing tennis, basketball, softball and flag football on with various teams.
At present, Wayne is a practicing attorney with an office in the heart of Old Town Alexandria.  He also is a published author, having written a book about the Virginia Traffic Court System.
Wayne looks back on his experience in Alexandria, particularly his association with TC Williams as an honor and privilege and believes that participation in sports can lay important groundwork in the formation of positive life values as well as lead to the realization that hard work, integrity and persistence is it’s own reward.
Beyond that, Wayne is grateful for the renewal of friendships that has resulted from the overwhelming recognition of the TC Williams Titans 1971 Championship team.  And, oh yes, Wayne is still active in many sports and doesn’t intend to stop.
